bugs in jaws7.1

Hi all. I tested jaws7.1 (I downloaded 7.1 and I have 6 as well) Anyways I'm wondering if some of you are finding the bugs that I have noticed and I also have a friend who noticed the same bugs. First of all jaws doesn't say top of list, top of file, bottom of list, or bottom of file. Anyone know if there's a way to resolve this? Second when you are in a combo box and alt down arrow jaws doesn't tell you rather you opened the combobox or not so you kind of have to guess. Also on my friends pc at work jaws7.1 is not reading list views correctly. Also I noticed jaws7.1 is reading extra characters that really arn't present. Like for example at the end of someones post jaws wil say ---. I didn't notice this with 6 or 7.
Well that is just the few bugs I found while playing with it. I will be sticking with 6 for now. I was just curious if anyone else was having these issues?

I don't think the top of list or bottom of list thing is exactly a bug, that may be, as the old joke goes, a feature. I installed the betas of JAWS 7.1 and found them to be quite bad, and when I downloaded the final release I found it to be just as buggy. So my advice is, JAWS 7 is your best bet. It's got its own share of quirks, but by far on my system it seems to be one of the most reliable versions I've used.

Yes, the top and bottom of list thing is a feature. It can be changed if desired, see the support section of the FS site. I do not like JAWS 7.1, but I haven't had any of the problems Troy mentioned. I am using legacy INternet support as I find the new support quite unstable, save for a couple of certain sites where I need to turn on the 7.1 support. They've attempted something here, and it does work better on a couple of sites, but overall it's about a 5 out of 10 rating in terms of stability and responsiveness and I think they have to answer to the paying customers for putting out something like this after three months of awful beta versions! I do know this is a free upgrade but it points to a downturn in the company's products if they don't use their handy dandy update feature and correct some of those minor bugs, or features, or whatever you may dub them. LOL

jaws 7.1 disgusts me. Can anyone tell me for sure if I sremove jaws 7.1 and reinstall 7.0, will I lose my authorization? If so, who do I remove it so that I don't have to waste a product key for this? Thanks.

As far as I know, your authorization won't be affected when removing 7.1 and reverting to 7. I am 99 percent sure of this. I think authorization is only affected when moving ahead to versions that you aren't authorized to run. If it wasn't for one digital music download site that is supported by 7.1 and not by 7, I'd be going back also. I may write to FS and let them know they screwed up. LOL

You in fact, can remove 7.1 and revert back to 7 without losing authorization.
I did it.

The only reason I installed 7.1 to begin with is that I was messing around with a braille sense, and it the driver is only supported by 7.1. That's FS's fault, and I hope GWMicro sues them for what they did, but that's neither here nor there.
